Rafinha

Márcio Rafael Ferreira de Souza, commonly known as Rafinha, (born 7 September 1985) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a right back for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. His name translated to English literally means 'Little Rafa'.

Rafinha began his football career at the age of seven, playing for Gremio Londrinense, a futsal team from his home town of Londrina in Paraná. By the age of twelve, he had begun training with PSTC, a local football club, before signing for Londrina Esporte Clube in 2001, at the age of 16. At the end of his first year with Londrina Rafinha was signed by Coritiba Foot Ball Club. This meant moving hundreds of kilometres from his home town, but allowed Rafinha to display his talents on the national stage.

At Coritiba Rafinha eventually found his way into the Brazilian Under-20 team, and played in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands. During the tournament Rafinha scored two goals and played an integral part in Brazil's progress to the bronze medal. Rafinha's performance at the tournament alerted numerous European teams to his ability, and eventually it was Schalke who were able to prise the right-back from Coritiba for an estimated €5 million on a four-year contract.

On 1 June 2011, along with Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich confirmed Rafinha's transfer from Genoa. He signed a three-year contract and reports say Bayern Munich paid €5.5 million for him.

In the summer of 2008 Rafinha was involved in a dispute with his club about his participation for Brazil at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.Schalke 04 (Rafinha) along with Werder Bremen (Diego) and Barcelona (Lionel Messi) did not want to release their players for the olympic games so that they could help them in their domestic and European competitions. The case was taken to FIFA who ruled that all clubs should release their players aged under 23 for the Olympic Games.

Schalke, Bremen and Barcelona took their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) who eventually ruled in the clubs favour stating that "The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld the appeals filed by FC Schalke 04, SV Werder Bremen and FC Barcelona against the decision issued on 30 July 2008 by the Single Judge of the Fifa's Players' Status Committee that consequently has been set aside in its entirety"

Neuer signed professional terms in 2005 after progressing through every age group at his hometown club. He made his Bundesliga debut when he came on to substitute the injured Frank Rost on match day 2 of the 2006–07 season. The 20-year-old eventually won the starting position when Rost was surprisingly dropped for the crunch clash against Bayern Munich. He did not disappoint and managed to secure a 2–2 draw against the defending champions. Despite his young age, he was widely tipped to be a potential successor to his former idol Jens Lehmann in the future for the German national team.

On 5 March 2008, in the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League, Neuer performed fantastically against FC Porto where he almost single-handedly kept Schalke in the game with some brilliant saves and forced the game into penalties.

The 2008–09 was somewhat disappointing as Schalke finished eighth in the league table and missed out on a Europa League spot. However, his good showing at the 2009 U-21 European Championships sparked interest from Bayern Munich, with Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge declaring interest in signing the young goalkeeper. Schalke's new manager Felix Magath, however, insisted that Neuer "will play for Schalke next season". In November, he was the only German goalkeeper in the list of five nominated goalkeepers for the UEFA Team of the Year. On 20 April 2011, he announced that he will not be extending his contract with Schalke which is set to expire at the end of the 2011–12 season.

On 1 June 2011 Schalke and Bayern Munich confirmed that Neuer will move to Bayern Munich in July 2011. Neuer signed a five-year contract that will last until June 2016. The move was worth €18 million, making Neuer the third most expensive goalkeeper of all time. After a round-table discussion between Bayern Munich and group of supporters’ representatives on 2 July 2011, among other things, it was decided that Manuel Neuer will be "regarded as a full member of the FC Bayern Munich team, who should be treated with due respect. Furthermore, hostility towards him should cease".

After progressing through the youth teams, Neuer made his U-21 debut on 15 August 2006 against the Netherlands. He won the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship with the Germany national under-21 football team in Sweden and kept a clean sheet in the final against England.Neuer was called-up on 19 May 2009 to the senior Germany squad for a tour of Asia. He made his debut on this tour in a match against United Arab Emirates on 2 June.[10] He played in the November friendly against the Ivory Coast that ended 2–2. Although he took responsibility for the first goal conceded, manager Joachim Löw refused to blame him and instead commended him for doing his best.

Neuer was selected as Germany's number one goalkeeper for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. During the group stages, he only conceded a single goal, in the match against Serbia. He provided the assist for Klose's first goal against England, winning 4–1. Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez (Spanish pronunciation: Spanish pronunciation: [a'leksis 'sanĉes]; born 19 December 1988), is a Chilean footballer who plays as a forward for FC Barcelona and for the Chilean national team.

Sánchez began his career as a youth player for Cobreloa in 2003, aged 15, for then be promoted to the first adult team, two years later. His precocious talent caught the attention of Udinese, team of the Italian Serie A, and signed the 17-year-old for $3 million in May 2006, but was immediately loaned out to Colo-Colo, and then River Plate where he was able to mature in less physically demanding confines than the Italian first division.

Born in Domodossola, Piedmont, Squizzi started his career at Juventus, the club giant of the region. In 1994–95 season, he worked as Angelo Peruzzi's backup, along with Michelangelo Rampulla. He played the final match of the season, which Le Zebre already secured the title weeks before. In the next season he left for Serie C1 club SPAL, where he worked as Oriano Boschin's backup. In 1996–97 season, he left for Atletico Catania, where he helped the club reached semi-final of promotion playoffs.

He joined Salernitana which newly relegated from Serie A in a co-ownership deal, which also saw Ciro Polito moved to opposite direction. He worked as Fabrizio Lorieri's backup, ahead youth product Rosario Niosi, Lorieri himself also a new signing but from Serie A club Lecce. He survived in mid-season sale, which saw Salernitana reduced the number of goalkeeper from 5 to 3 by sending ex-no.2 Andrea Ivan and youth product Crescenzo De Vito to Livorno and Giugliano respectively. But after Salernitana failed to return to Serie A, all goalkeeper were left the club and replaced by Salvatore Soviero, Domenico Botticella and youth product Raffaele Coscia. Ciro Polito, who was bought back from Lucchese, also transferred to Avellino.

Due to Monza failed to win promotion, on 29 August 2003 he secured a move to Catania of Serie B, ahead Emanuele Concetti, Paolo Mancini (joined in January) and youth product Gaetano Romano as first choice. He concerned only 29 goals in 29 league matches with 11 clean sheets, but after injured in March, Concetti and Mancini concerned 15 goals in 9 league matches with 4 clean sheets and 4 goals in 4 matches with 1 clean sheet respectively between round 33 to 45. Squizzi returned to field on the last round, played 77 minutes as starter without concerned a goal, before replaced by Mancini. The match ended in 2–0 won to the 2nd club ranked from the bottom.

In the next season, the club signed Vincenzo Sicignano from relegated Lecce to replace Fontana who left for Palermo. But Squizzi was promoted to first choice in the 2 round (ahead youth product Mattia Passarini) and played one UEFA Cup match verse Sporting Braga. In the round 7 Sicignano regained his place but in February Squizzi restored as first choice, ahead his former team-mate Emanuele Concetti who signed in mid-season. Although Sicignano and Squizzi concerned 24 goals each, and ranked mid-table by terms of goals concerned, Chievo poor goal scoring, partially due to the left of Amauri, made Sicignano and Squizzi once again tasted relegation.

At Serie B, Squizzi secured his place as first choice, ahead Gabriele Aldegani and Mattia Passarini. He won Serie B champion with team and returned to Serie A.Since the signing of Stefano Sorrentino in July 2008 and turned to age 34, he worked as backup goalkeeper again, along with Gabriele Aldegani (2008–09) and Michał Miśkiewicz (2009–10).On 7 June 2010 Chievo announced Squizzi had signed a new 1-year contract. Xabier "Xabi" Alonso Olano (Basque pronunciation: [ˈʃabi aˈlons̺o]; born 25 November 1981) is a Spanish World Cup-winning footballer who plays for Real Madrid as a midfielder.Alonso began his career at Real Sociedad, the main team of his home region Gipuzkoa. Alonso handed in a transfer request in late July and completed a £30 million move to Real Madrid on 5 August 2009. Muslera started his professional football career with Montevideo Wanderers in 2004, having come through the club's youth system. After impressive performances for Wanderers, Uruguayan giants Nacional opted to take him on loan in 2007.After returning to Montevideo, and a display of successful performances, he began to attract attention from Europe, until he was signed by Lazio in 2007.

Lazio signed Muslera in August 2007 for a fee of €3 million.He made his debut for Lazio in a 3–1 home win against Cagliari on 16 September 2007, and made four more consecutive starts, the last which was a disastrous performance in Lazio's 1–5 home loss to Milan on 7 October, a match in which he was at fault on four of the five goals Lazio conceded. The transfer involved Lorik Cana moving in the opposite direction, to Lazio, while Galatasaray also paid €6.75 million to Muslera's former club, Montevideo Wanderers who owned 50% of his playing rights. The total value of his transfer is therefore believed to be in the region of €12 million, making Muslera the most expensive goalkeeper transfer in Turkey and the fifth most expensive goalkeeper of all time. He will earn €2 million a year.

He made his FIFA World Cup debut against France on June 11, 2010, Uruguay's opening game of the tournament and the second game on the opening day of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He kept a clean sheet during all 3 of Uruguay's group matches (0–0 against France, 3–0 against South Africa, and 1–0 against Mexico).
